But in the Microsoft Edge browser, there is IE mode that you can use to import updates into WSUS. This is because on Windows 11 (and newer Windows 10 builds), Microsoft relies on Microsoft Edge as the browser and is moving away from Internet Explorer 11.
German blog reader Karl has addressed the question of how to import updates in WSUS on systems without Internet Explorer 11. Wolfgang Sommergut has described this in more detail on WindowsPro in this article. There I had then addressed an alternative import method using PowerShell. I had addressed this before in 2018 in the blog post WSUS: Microsoft Update Catalog Import failure. This usually requires Internet Explorer 11 because of ActiveX dependencies. Administrators of a Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) who want to distribute out-of-band (OOB) updates must manually download those updates from Microsoft's servers and then import them into WSUS.
